Features of Feelings

Hello my dear friend,

I have brought this sweet flower to welcome you to the 4th post of this blog, “Features Of Our Feelings”. In the 3rd post “What Are Feelings?” we discussed the significance of feelings in our lives and came to the conclusion that

In this section, we are going to discuss in detail about the features of our feelings. Mainly, we will try to find out the answers to the questions like:

  1. How do feelings control the nature of our mind?
  2. Can we create any feelings in our mind?
  3. What is the way to destroy our feelings?
  4. What is the process of generating feelings in our mind through external sources?
  5. If the feelings are energy, they are all the features of energy applicable in feelings?

But, before going to the main episode, I request you to subscribe this blog by clicking on the bell icon at the bottom right corner of the screen and then click on the allow button to get all the notifications and updates of this blog.

Now, let’s come to the main episode,

If you want to realize this answer, then you have to follow my instructions step by step. Are you ready to follow my instructions? If yes, then let’s start. Before you start reading this blog post I want to request you to be angry with me and start abusing me.

What !!

I know that it sounds very funny but you have to do it.

Remember that, don’t start abusing me by joking. You have to follow two steps:

Can you do so?

I know that you can hardly follow the above steps as there is no reason for you to be angry and start abusing me. Is not it?

But if I behave rudely with you or start doing something unethical according to your views, then will you be able to follow the above steps?

I know, what will be your answer right now? Your answer will be definitely “Yes”. Is not it? Actually,

Now, the question arises, why I have presented the above example in this context. What is my motive?

Frankly speaking, the motive of presenting this example is to find out the answer to one question, that is:

Let us find out the answer to this question. But to get the answer, you have to reminisce your childhood days where you have learned about the features of energy. Can you remember those features?

There were mainly three features of energy that you have learned in your childhood days. Those were:

  1. Energy cannot be created.
  2. Energy cannot be destroyed.
  3. Energy can be converted from one form to another.

Now we have to determine whether these features of energy apply to our feelings or not.

Let us try to make it out through some real-life examples.

Example :

Suppose, you have decided that you will propose a girl for marriage.

Now tell me, what kind of feelings can be created in your mind in this context? If the girl says that she is ready to marry you, a good feeling will be created in your mind. On the other hand, if the girl says that she is not interested in you, then…..

Just think about the above example. Had you created your good or bad feelings in your mind yourself?

Then, what exactly happened here? How were those feelings created in your mind?

Just think minutely. In the first case,

You proposed a girl,” Will you marry me?”

The girl gave a sweet smile and replied,” Yes, I’m ready to marry you.”

As soon as you notice her smile and hear her consent, you rejoice.

On the other hand, if the girl replies with a little annoyance,” No, I’m not interested in you,” It will disappoint you. If you analyze the two above incidents, then you can find out that there is a similarity between the two. In both cases, feelings were created in your mind through some external incidents, not by you. Actually, you received some information through your senses (eye, ear, nose, tongue, skin) in both cases after that your feelings were created in your mind. Is not it?

Therefore, when you noticed her smile and heard her consent for the marriage, you rejoiced and when you noticed her annoyance and heard her reluctance for the marriage, you became disappointed.

You could not create any feelings in your mind yourself. Could you?

In this context, I want to present an example here. It is your sexual desire.

Did you have any idea about sex when you were six years old and admitted to a primary school?

Definitely not. But as you grew up and some hormonal changes happened in your body, a new desire aroused in your mind.

Was this feeling created in your mind by yourself?

Similarly, you will not be able to destroy those feelings from your mind. Can you do so? Ask yourself first.

Conclusion:

In this episode, we have discussed that we can’t create or destroy our feelings from our mind by ourselves. But there are still some questions in my mind yet to be discussed.

We receive some information through our senses from the external incidents thereafter feelings are created in our mind. Then which is responsible for creating those feelings in our mind?

1) Those external incidents?

2) That information that we receive through our senses?

3) How do they create feelings in our mind?

Do you have the answer to this question?

Exercise:

Now you have to find out the answers to the questions below.

1)Can we control our feelings?

2) Can we convert our feelings from one form to another?

3) How are these feelings created in our mind?  What do you think? Let me know through your comment. I am waiting for your comment.

I must stop now with the hope of having a chance to meet you in the next post.
