Hey guys, how are you?
Today I’m here to present an interesting fact in front of you. It is “How Feelings Are Created In Our Mind?”. In the previous post “Features Of Feelings”, we discussed the process of creating feelings in our mind through external sources in brief. Today we are going to discuss it in detail.
But, before going to the main episode, I request you to subscribe this blog by clicking on the bell icon at the bottom right corner of the screen and then click on the allow button to get all the notifications and updates of this blog.
You may notice that most of the feelings are created in our mind through external sources. We receive some information through our senses (eye, ear, nose, tongue, skin) and thereafter the feelings are created in our mind .
But how does this information create feelings in our mind? Have you ever thought about it?
Let us try to make it out through an example. In every moment, a lot of accidents are happening in our external world. For example, we can say “death.” A lot of people passes away every day through accidents or naturally. If you take a look at the newspapers or news channels, then you may notice such kind of news every day.
Does this news create any feelings in your mind? I know what your answer will be. But if you come to know, one of your relatives or neighbors was killed in this accident, and then it will create pathetic feelings in your mind. Is not it? Hence we can understand that only the information from our external world is not capable to create any feelings in our mind unless we can find out any relationship in that particular information. Hence we can say that
If we think deeper about our feelings, then you can see that when we receive some information through our senses and can find out any relationship in that information, then weird sensations are created in our mind and entire body. These sensations can be called “feelings”. Sometimes these sensations help us to unite with others and sometimes they break off our relationship with others.
Thus we can classify our sensations or feelings into two different categories.
These kinds of feelings help us to connect with others and build up a strong relationship.
Example: Love, gratitude, sympathy, faith, fortitude, etc.
We become disconnected from others for these kinds of feelings.
Examples: Desire, greed, jealousy, anger etc.
Now the question arises, how the information from our external world can create two different feelings in our mind?
Have you ever thought about that?
Is it too difficult to understand? Okay, let me make it clear.
Step 1: You receive some information from your external world through your senses.
Step 2: you become able to find out a relation with that information.
Step 3: Now this information can create two types of feelings (good or bad) in your mind.
My question is:
I have found the answer to the question in an ancient book of India. It is “The Mahabharata”.
A wonderful explanation has been described in The Mahabharata in this context. The Mahabharata says, “When a person acknowledges another’s thoughts or actions, then this acceptance creates a good feeling in his mind and this feeling helps him to connect with the later. On the other hand, when a person does not acknowledge another’s thoughts or action and tries to make a change in the other, the conflict begins. “
Is it too difficult to understand? Okay, let me make it clear through some examples.
Suppose someone is praising you. He is glorifying your fame and achievements in front of a lot of people.
Now tell me, what kind of feelings will be created in your mind through this incident or the information that you will receive from this incident.
A good feeling will be created in your mind through this incident. But my question is
It is because you have accepted his thoughts and actions. You know that you are a genius and you are eligible to be a famous person. The man is doing so. He is glorifying your fame and achievements in front of all to make you famous. So, a good feeling will be created in your mind and this feeling will help you to connect with that person along with others.
On the other hand, if the person starts condemning you like “this man is good for nothing, dull, stupid “etc.
Will you be able to accept this? Not. You will start jangling to prove him wrong. Hence the conflict will begin and a bad feeling will be created in your mind. This feeling will disconnect you from that person along with others.
I hope I have made it clear.
We learn from this episode that what kind of feeling will be created in our mind is completely dependent on how much we can accept the information that we will receive from our external world. Is not it? The more you will accept the information that you will receive from your external world, the more peace and happiness you will get in return. On the other hand, the more you will deny the information that you will receive from your external world, the more bad feelings (like sadness, anger, depression) you will get in return. Moreover, if you start arguing with the other, the conflict will begin. Is it not true?
We have discussed a lot in this episode but there is still a question in my mind yet to be discussed.
Sometimes we can accept another’s thoughts and actions but sometimes we cannot. Why does it happen?
What do you think? Let me know through your comment. I am waiting for your comment.
I must stop now with the hope of having a chance to meet you in the next post.
